For an hour Crystal will be unloading hydration chambers and pinning in person.
Stop by and watch the delicate process involved in setting up specimens for preservation. Crystal likes to set her specimens up in ways that are close to natural movements. This gives her the chance to create a diorama that feels like time has been frozen. Creating a space to investigate insect specimens in a way that is safe, both for the insect and the viewer.
All of the specimens Crystal works with are ethically sourced or found objects. This hobby can be very challenging and creates a chance to learn about insects from around the world.
